Is it safe to use contact solution instead of eye drops to clear up contacts?

After a few hours of wearing my contacts, they start to get a little foggy. I put eye drops in, but it doesn't make the fogginess go away. So one day I just put in a couple drops of my contact solution and it cleared them right up, but a friend said that the solution shouldn't be used as eye drops like that! Is she right?|||Well, they are not designed to be that wya, but it is not going to Hurt you. I do it sometimes myself. Just do not touch the open end of the bottle to your eye or to your hands. You might contaminate the whole bunch of solution.|||As long as you are using a 'multi-purpose' solution, which is recommended for rinsing, storing, cleaning, and soaking you should be fine. Make sure you are using a preservative-free eye drop (Systane Ultra) or something compatible with contact lenses. Some eye drops make the contacts more foggy because they aren't compatible with contact lenses (Optive). Make sure you are also cleaning your contact lenses nightly, I know many solutions advertise as 'No Rub' but it is still recommended to just do a 5 sec rubdown on each side. If you cannot commit to cleaning your lenses I would recommend using a solution called 'Clear Care' (if you are using monthly/2wk lenses)...but make sure you read the directions, this solution can and will cause a chemical burn! Also, make sure you are replacing them as scheduled by your eye doctor. Once they are worn past the schedule the lens actually starts to break down and slowly loses ability to correct vision. But back to the original question, yes, that is one of the key functions of multi-purpose solution ---rinsing contact lenses!!|||as long as you dont use it all the time. only if you really need it and only 1-2 drops in each eye. I have contacts and i do it all the time. you could also try taking them out cleaning them and putting them back in but thats a hassle lol|||ITS NOT GONNA HURT U.
